One of the world’s top jazz drummers, Willie Jones III is known for both his distinct style of rhythmic expression and for honoring his monumental influences, as he’s done on his latest recording, Fallen Heroes, which pays tribute to a few recently passed mentors, including Roy Hargrove.
It was his years playing with Hargrove that taught Willie to give “110 percent every night,” which is what he’ll do at the Jazz Forum.
